Dia Mirza to tie the knot soon?

It looks like Bollywood is in a mood to celebrate romance like never before. 2012 began with the big fat Riteish-Genelia wedding and we hear Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan will walk down the aisle sometime in March as well.

Now yet another couple has decided to take their relationship to the next level – the pretty Dia Mirza and her suave boyfriend and business partner, Sahil Sangha. Buzz is that the duo, who had planned to tie the knot at the end of 2012, has now mutually decided to shift the date to 2013. The wedding is most likely to take place in Mumbai.

    A few days ago it was reported that Sonam, who had worked in Punit’s directorial debut ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ (her only hit so far!) had turned down his next film because Shahid, her ‘Mausam’ co-star had been signed on as the male lead.

  • Tony Danza to hit Broadway in 'Honeymoon in Vegas'

    NEW YORK: Tony Danza is Broadway-bound, starring in a musical based on the movie "Honeymoon in Vegas."

    Producers said Monday that the star will play a Vegas wiseguy in the show, which makes its debut in November in Toronto. It is headed to Broadway in the spring of 2013.

    The musical features music and lyrics by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown and a book by Andrew Bergman, who also directed and wrote the film.

    The 1992 movie starred James Caan, Nicolas Cage and Sarah Jessica Parker. It tells the story of a reluctant groom whose bride-to-be is courted by Danza's character.

  • Yuvraj Singh has cancer

    Yuvraj Singh, known as much for his fiery performances on the cricket field as his eventful personal life, has been diagnosed with cancer. Earlier, it had been revealed that the 30-year-old was suffering from a tumour in his lungs, and now it’s been confirmed that the growth is malignant.

    Apparently, the cricketer’s ailment was first misdiagnosed by an Indian hospital. Yuvraj is now being treated at the Cancer Research Institute in Boston, America.

    NEW YORK: J. Cole has a huge appetite when it comes to his career.

    Although he's got a platinum single, a gold album and a Grammy nomination for best new artist, he wants more.

    "I'm grateful for everything that happened, but I'm not satisfied," J. Cole said. "There (are) still accomplishments that keep happening from the work that I put in last year and from the last two, three years ... but those are just reminders of the work that I did. That's in the past. Like, what's the next move? That's my mind state."

    Call it the Jay-Z state of mind.

    British hip-hop artist M.I.A.'s obscene gesture in the Super Bowl halftime show is prompting apologies from NBC and the NFL. But it isn't immediately registering as a moment that viewers latched on to.

    The digital video recorder maker Tivo said Monday that there wasn't an appreciable bump in viewers who played back the moment where M.I.A. extended her middle finger during Madonna's performance of "Give Me All Your Luvin'" on Sunday night's show.

    NEW YORK: Fox News Channel's Bret Baier has already annoyed Mitt Romney this campaign season. Now he's finding fault with one of Newt Gingrich's ideas.

    Gingrich, who was on Fox's payroll as an analyst before running for president, said recently that if he was the GOP nominee, he wouldn't agree to a debate with President Barack Obama if a journalist was the moderator.

    "I don't think that would work," said Baier, who has moderated five GOP debates this election cycle. "I don't think it would be too enjoyable to watch."

    LOS ANGELES: When Dave Grohl started in the music business, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars were tots; Rihanna and Adele weren't even born.

    That makes Grohl and his Foo Fighters kind of the senior set as they face off against the new kids at the Grammys on Sunday for album of the year. It's one of the six nominations for the Foos, who tied Adele and Mars for the second-most nominations (behind Kanye West) and will be performers at the show, to air from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

  • Dr. Oz's health effort nets 1 million participants

    NEW YORK: Television already has "The Biggest Loser." Dr. Mehmet Oz is looking for the biggest number of losers.

    "The Dr. Oz Show" said Monday that it had netted its 1 millionth participant in its "transformation nation" health effort, and the number is climbing. One of those people will win a $1 million prize in May.

    Since September, Oz has urged viewers to participate in his health challenge, done together with Weight Watchers. The number of registrants has increased steadily to a point that Oz said he'd never imagined the program would reach.

  • Bollywood mourns Raj Kanwar’s death

    Director Raj Kanwar, who gave both Shah Rukh and Priyanka Chopra their first major roles in Bollywood, died in Singapore on February 3. The filmmaker, 53, had been suffering a kidney problem for over a year and had flown out for a transplant. He passed away before the surgery.

    Kanwar’s last rites will take place at the Oshiwara cremation ground in Mumbai on February 5. He is survived by his wife and two sons Karan, 20, and Abhay, 16.
