Never before a sitting Speaker of House of Representatives has ever attended such an event.

Pakistan Flood Relief: Text Message FITRA to 27722
Islamabad, Pakistan: "We are trapped in the flood water. We have nothing to eat or drink. Please rescue us. Our lives are in danger. For God's sake rescue us, otherwise we will die. Please help us, please!" Khyber Husain, Jacobabad, Sindh – This was a call made to ‘Lifeline Pakistan’ service provided by 34 FM through BBC World.
To such pleas, there have been undying efforts executed by Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD):
Twenty four hour medical clinics are running in some of the most remote areas.

Houston, Texas (Special Correspondent of Pakistan Chronicle): This past Monday and Thursday, Helping Hand For Relief & Development (HHRD) sent from Houston two 40-Feet Long Containers to Pakistan, containing Survival Kits, Food Items, Hygiene Kits, Medicines, Sleeping Bags, Comforters, Utensils & Household Items, arm Winter Clothing, and much more. This weekend on Saturday, September 04, 2010 between 11am and 6pm, a third container will be prepared.

Houston, Texas (Special Correspondent of Pakistan Chronicle): Around $200,000 were raised by Dr. Kashif Ansari of Omair-Sana Foundation (OSF) and members of the Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs (OPEN) this past Sunday morning in Houston at Nirvana Restaurant (owned by the administration of King’s Chicken) located along Memorial Drive at Dairy Ashford. The Islamic Society of Greater Houston has already pledged $50,000 to this cause, to take the fundraised figure to around $250,000.

Jashn-e-Azadi Mela held in US DALLAS: Pakistan association of Texas, the largest representative organization of overseas Pakistanis in the Texas, arranged a Jashn-e- Azadi pageant in the famous Flag Poll Park Dallas, Texas USA.
Stalls of various products were put up at the park area. Television celebrities like Saud and his team particularly flew into DFW to participate in the big event.

Houston, Texas (05-17-2010 – Pakistan Chronicle News): Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia this past Monday in the jail located along San Jacinto announced a high profile advisory panel for the Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement Program called 287(g). Panel includes people of varying background and communities. Sheriff Garcia has formed this committee to advise him on the screening of county jail inmates for immigration status.
