Militants kill four 'US spies'

MIRANSHAH: Militants have killed four men, beheading two and dumping the bodies in Pakistan's northwest tribal belt after accusing them of spying for the United States, officials said Friday.

The bodies were found by the side of a road in Khadi village, 25 kilometres (15 miles) east of Miranshah, the main town in the tribal North Waziristan region near the Afghan border, local police officer Kalam Khan told AFP.

    PESHAWAR: Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani Wednesday said the nation would emerge triumphant in the on-going war against extremism.

    Addressing a ceremony held here at Police Lines he paid rich tributes to the Frontier police for their invaluable sacrifices in the war against terrorism. General Kayani said the sacrifices rendered by the Frontier Police in the war against terrorists despite meager resources were highly commendable and such examples of sacrifices and valour were difficult to found.

    JOHANNESBURG: A South African cricket row has spread to the international arena with Johannesburg shunned for most of the top ICC Champions Trophy fixtures this September and October.

    South Africa will play their three Group B fixtures at 20,000-capacity Centurion Park beside the highway linking Johannesburg and Pretoria and defending champions Australia go there for two Group A games.
