Helping Hand receives $3.03-Million from United Nations World Food Programme to assist IDPs in Pakistan

Houston, Texas: The team in Pakistan of the leading U.S. Based Non-Profit Organization “Helping Hand For Relief & Development” has received a contract from United Nations World Food Programme, to distribute the much needed food items among the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of NWFP in Six Union Councils of Mardan District. During the first three months, 5,030,400 Metric-Tonnes of food (worth $3.03-Millions) will be distributed, among 16,000 refugee families. If crisis is not over in three months, then another 3 months period and $3.03-Millions will be added into this grant.
“Helping Hand (HH) has received this contract based on our transparent procedures of accountability and excellent management systems, which United Nations World Food Programme was able to ascertain through our earlier contract with them for Batgram Pakistan. Initially HH has established food distribution hubs at Chargali and Garhi Kapura in Mardan District. Other than this effort, HH will continue through donations by general public from worldwide to provide Medical Camps and Mobile Clinic facilities, plus the over 1,000 persons Tent Village Facilities in Miraj Colony, Takht Bhai Mardan,” informed Farrukh Raza, Director of Helping Hand in USA.
