ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court here Thursday directed the Attorney General (AG) of Pakistan to appear in person on July 15 and apprise the court of facts regarding nuclear scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan’s alleged detention.

The Single Bench of Chief Justice Sardar Mohammad Aslam issued the direction after hearing a contempt of court application submitted by advocate M Javed Iqbal Jafferi.

The Bench also issued notice to Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Raja Abdur Rehman to explain his position. The applicant requested the court that contempt of court proceedings should be started against DAG for “misguiding the court and submitting wrong statements” over the issue.
