The concert will feature changing sets, large images, and a spectacular cast of musicians & dancers from across the globe:” These were words of an excited Moid Khan of Bollywood Shows 4U Houston at the most well-attended kick-off event in Hyatt Regency, as he described the 20 City World Tour of Two Grammy & Oscar Winner A. R. Rahman. Theme of the event is: “A. R. Rahman Jai Ho Concert: The Journey Home World Tour.”
Produced by famous Deepak Gattani of Rapport Productions, this history making first tour after Oscars, will start on June 11th, 2010 with New York at The Nassau Coliseum; while his 10th city will be Houston, as this extravaganza will happen in the evening at the prestigious Toyota Center on Saturday, July 03rd, 2010. It will feature A. R. Rahman’s matchless music from “Slumdog Millionaire” and other landmark films of India.
“After his sister got sick, A. R. Rahman became very spiritual and got near to Sufism. All his prayers bear fruits as his sister is well again,” said Sanjiv Arora, Consul General of India in Houston.
In his special message about the concert, Producer Deepak Gattani of Rapport Productions has said: “India has loads to tell the world, and that has been woven in the Journey Home Concert of Rahman, the treatment being theatrical, with new age technology. Rahman and his musical magic help us go through this very intrigue of India, in 2hrs 30 min, musical spectacle, from rural sight, to celebrations’, to the Indian fashions, and to the very Soul of India with it spirituality and am sure it will be a great experience for the Houston audience.”
