ANKARA: Turkey's main opposition party is set to elect an anti-corruption crusader as its new leader following the chairman's resignation over a sex scandal.

Kemal Kilicdaroglu is standing unopposed for the leadership of the pro-secular Republican People's Party at the party's congress Saturday.

The 62-year old former bureaucrat headed Turkey's social security agency and led an association dedicated to fighting state corruption before winning a seat in parliament in 2002.
