ISLAMABAD: The United States embassy on Wednesday announced a new programme allowing Pakistani businesses to register and receive certification from the US commercial service.

The US-Pak business matching service will allow Pakistani companies to link up with American companies who are looking for partners but are uncertain of the best ways to find them, a US embassy statement said issued. The US commercial service has been active in Pakistan since 1980.

In addition to its new business matching initiative, the commercial service is currently organising a fresh series of investment and trade promotion missions to the United States. The planned activities for 2010 include capacity building programmes for commercial law development, workshops to advise how to access the Generalized System of Preferences and business internship programmes in the US.
