It's Official! Khalid Khan is now a candidate for the Houston City Council's District F Seat

He is a prominent successful businessman in city of Houston especially in district F for about a quarter of a century and a resident of district F for over 17 years. He is a well deserving candidate who know the problem of constituents (district F). If you pass through Hillcroft in southwest freeway you cannot miss his business (Capricorn Travel) which is located in Olympic Shopping Center.
Khalid Khan is well known as an amiable personality and a member of Hillcroft Merchant Association. Khalid Khan has served as chairman of Education & Publication Committee for the Pakistani-American Association of Greater Houston (PAAGH) for two years, then chairman of Constitution Committee and has been the vice president for two years. He became president of PAAGH on January 1st, 2009 right after Ghulam M. Bombaywala termed out as president. He is a lifetime member of PAAGH and and active member of the Islamic Association of Greater Houston (ISGH).
Khalid Khan has been a very dedicated man and outstanding leader, a dependable and proven volunteer. No one can forget his services for the Pakistan American Community Center. He has raised over $250,000 for PAAGH. He has also raised a considerable amount of money for Charlie Wilson Chair for Pakistan Studies at UT Austin. He has been an active source of support for Hurricane Rita and Katrina victims by helping thousands left homeless to rebuild their lives. He organized camp in Pakistani American Community Center where he help distribute vouchers for FEMA. He assisted in providing meals for the homeless at the George R Brown Convention Center (ICNA Project). Khalid Khan has helped raise funds for numerous other charities, whether they originate in Pakistan or the United States. He also visited Pakistan during the earthquake in order to help the thousands of victims who were left homeless due to the tragedy and was a part of House of Charity for their medical mission in Pakistan.
Khalid Khan is a renowned family man. He has been happily married to Mehreen Khan for the past 15 years and has two beautiful daughters: Sammar (14) and Mehak (13). His wife Mehreen and their daughters have always stood by him in every single event whether it be religious, cultural or political. They have been a constant source of support to him and have encouraged him through every aspect of his life. Khalid Khan has previously run for district F on the request of numerous community members in the past. Now with the help of many of his friends throughout the Houston area and business owners of district F he has decided to run once again, calculating the previous mistakes and minimizing the chance of failure.
Khalid Khan wants to follow in the footsteps of Houston City Councilman MJ Khan, who was also the president of PAAGH before running for the district F seat in 2004. He wants to lower the crime rate by increasing the neighbourhood watch and increasing officers in the streets. He also wants to revitalize Sharpstown Mall and other business in the district F. Khan wants to beautify the district by planting more trees. He plans to call for frequent town hall meetings and keep an open door policy for all of his constituents.
