ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday ordered the Punjab government to resolve the issue of the Drug Regulatory Authority (DRA) within 10 days, DawnNews reported.

A bench of the SC, presided over by Justice Tasdeeq Hussain Jilani, heard the case of the fake medicines on Monday.

During the hearing, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) presented their report and admitted that a case had been wrongly filed against two drug-manufacturing companies, while evidence against only one of the companies had been found.

Advocate General (AG) Punjab Ashtar Ausaf informed the bench that the names of the owners of Efroze Chemicals Ltd had been put on the Exit-Control List (ECL). Answering a question by the bench, Ausaf said that the authority for registration of medicines and for their import and export lies with the federal government.

The hearing was adjourned till February 17.
