Collingwood rested for BD Test series

LONDON: England Twenty20 skipper Paul Collingwood will be rested for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh after a tough winter and a successful Twenty20 World Cup campaign.
The 33-year-old had also been treating his long-standing shoulder problem, which had been troubling him recently, and was the reason behind his absence in the one-day series against Australia last summer.
Meanwhile, fast bowler Stuart Broad will be left out of next week’s first Test against Bangladesh to help the selection panel to review some inexperienced players before the Ashes Down Under.
“We’ve had a long winter with four tours and, after another busy summer at home, we have a full Ashes tour and a World Cup next winter,” Geoff Miller, Chairman of selectors, said.
“I don’t like to use the word rotation, but we have to manage the players’ workload,” he added.
